The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
The Kennedy Center is located at 2700 F St., NW, Washington, D.C. 20566. It is accessible by Metro (via the subway and bus lines), by taxi, and by car. For more information on visiting the Kennedy Center, click here.
Parking is currently available on a first-come, first-served basis at the parking entrances. Accessible parking spaces are available on all levels and are located on the west side of the motor lobbies nearest the river. All major credit cards accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Please Note: Online pre-paid parking must be purchased at least one day in advance. Otherwise, parking is offered at the gate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Garage Hours
The parking garage is currently open to the public on:
Monday through Friday: 5 a.m. until 12 Midnight
Saturday and Sunday: 7 a.m. until 12 Midnight
No overnight parking.
Directions
Garage portals are located at the north and south ends of the building.
Garage Entry/Exit: All entrances to the garage are currently open. These entrances can be accessed via 25th Street for all south entrances, and via New Hampshire Avenue and F Street as well as Rock Creek Parkway northbound for all north entrances. Rock Creek Parkway northbound can be accessed from both the south and north garage exits during performance times.
Note: For vehicles taller than 6 ft., there are limited spaces available on all levels (max. clearance 7 ft.).
Accessibility
Accessible parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis on all three levels of the garage for vehicles bearing valid DMV accessible parking placards or license. Spaces are located on the west side of the motor lobbies nearest the river. For information about van accessible parking for vehicles over 6 ft. 6 in. tall, please call (202) 416-7988.
The Foggy Bottom/George Washington University/Kennedy Center subway station (on the Orange, Blue, and Silver lines) is a short walk via New Hampshire Avenue.
The Kennedy Center Shuttle Hours of Operation
Monday – Saturday: 9:45 a.m. – 12 Midnight (except federal holidays)
Sunday: 11:45 a.m. – 12 Midnight
Federal Holidays: 4:00 p.m. – End of Last Performance
Metro Busses 43 and 44 now come to the Kennedy Center from Mt Pleasant. For details, call Metro information at (202) 637-7000.
Taxi service to and from the Kennedy Center is convenient and readily available. A taxi dispatcher is available to signal cabs and assign patrons from 6:30 PM (3:30 PM on matinee days) until 30 minutes after the end of the last performance. Look for the uniformed dispatcher at the Hall of States entrance.
Bike racks are available for patron convenience at the following locations: F St. & New Hampshire Ave., next to the Metro Bus stop on the Front Plaza, inside the Level A garage entrance, and on the grounds of the REACH.
A Capital Bikeshare rack is located on F Street to the west of the Grand Staircase.
