Caroline Pearson is the Executive Director at the Peterson Center on Healthcare where leads initiatives and grantmaking to fulfill the Center’s mission to create a high performing health system that delivers better care at lower cost. Caroline also designed and built the Peterson Health Technology Institute, which launched in 2023 to evaluate the clinical and economic impacts of digital health solutions.

Prior to joining Peterson, Caroline spent 20 years leading consulting and research teams at Avalere and NORC at the University of Chicago. In these roles, she delivered data, insights, and strategic support to healthcare industry clients, including health plans, providers, life sciences companies, associations, patient groups, and foundations.

Caroline is an expert in state and federal health policy, public and private insurance, prescription drugs, and aging issues. Her 2019 article, “The Forgotten Middle,” was the 5th most read Health Affairs article of that year, highlighting the growing number of middle-income seniors with unmet health and housing needs. Caroline graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University with a B.A. in Government.
