Anthony Carter (he/him) is a Director at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, where he leads initiatives focused on advancing the mental health and substance use treatment workforce. Prior to joining the National Council, Anthony served as the data and quality assurance manager for a child welfare services agency based in Maryland, where he was responsible for agency data collection, analysis and reporting of key performance indicators. He started in child welfare as a child protective services social worker investigating child abuse and neglect allegations and is an active licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) in Maryland. Prior to his career in social work, Anthony was a program manager at Public Allies, a national workforce development and social justice nonprofit that advances new leadership to strengthen communities, nonprofits and civic participation.
